KNOW. DECIDE. ACT.
KNOW. DECIDE. ACT.
Braun Applied Intelligence helps organizations understand their data, use it to make better decisions, and act with confidence.
What we do
Most of what you're hearing about data and AI right now doesn't apply to your organization. It's built for organizations that don't have to think hard about who sees their data, what a vendor does with it, or what happens if a mistake goes public. If your business runs on confidentiality and trust, that advice skips past exactly the risks that matter most to you.
Our team's roots are in the intelligence community and the Department of Defense, working hands-on with some of the most sensitive data in the world. That's the standard we bring to your organization, with recommendations built around your systems, not a generic playbook. Once the assessment is done, we can help you implement what we find instead of just handing you a document.
Our approach is built around governed flexibility: a wide operating space with a few clear, highly enforced rules. Enough structure to protect trust, security, and interoperability. Enough flexibility for users to adapt, experiment, and solve problems we never could have anticipated.
Expertise and Featured Projects
Read on for more about our capabilities and how we support clients.
Data Architecture
We design the systems, structures, and connections that make data usable across teams and applications. That includes how data is collected, stored, integrated, secured, and made available for analytics and AI.
Data Governance
We establish the rules, roles, and controls needed to keep data trusted, secure, and usable. The goal is enough structure to protect quality and compliance without slowing the organization down.
Data Engineering & Data Science
We build the pipelines, models, and analytical workflows that turn fragmented or messy data into reliable information. From data ingestion and transformation to statistical analysis and predictive modeling, we create systems that support better decisions.
Data Strategy
We help organizations decide what data capabilities they actually need, what to prioritize, and how to get there. The result is a practical roadmap tied to real business or mission outcomes—not technology for technology’s sake.
Analytics, Reporting & Dashboards
We turn complex data into clear reporting, dashboards, and decision tools that people can actually use. The focus is not just displaying information, but helping leaders understand what is happening, why it matters, and what to do next.
AI & Machine Learning
We identify where AI and machine learning can solve real problems, then design and build solutions that fit the organization’s data, workflows, and risk tolerance. We focus on practical adoption, measurable value, and a realistic path from pilot to production.
Benjy has a rare ability to translate emerging technology into practical government solutions. Whether developing AI/ML workflows, designing modern data architectures, or using LLMs to automate complex work products, he helped us understand what was possible, what was realistic, and how to move forward. He brings the creativity to see the opportunity and the judgment to make it work. Benjy provided technical leadership in engagements with large federal agencies, encouraging hesitant senior staff to adopt transformative new paradigms.”

Meet the Team
BENJAMIN BRAUN | benjy@braun-ai.com
Benjy focuses on helping national security and mission oriented organizations understand their data, modernize their technical architecture, build practical AI-enabled capabilities, and turn complex mission requirements into secure, scalable systems that work. He brings 15+ years of experience supporting defense, intelligence, and national security missions across government, consulting, startups, and product organizations.
A former civilian intelligence officer, Benjy has built and led teams delivering data, AI/ML, analytics, cybersecurity, and cloud solutions for mission customers. He was the technical co-founder at a defense technology startup, where he architected and scaled a supply chain risk management platform from concept to a $30M government contract and successful acquisition. His work spans the full data value chain: data architecture, ingestion, engineering, analytics, AI/ML implementation, secure cloud infrastructure, and mission-facing product delivery. He has supported organizations including NGA, DIA, FBI, DHS, ODNI, NAVSEA, and other defense and intelligence customers.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
We work with organizations that have complex data, ambitious technology goals, or important decisions that depend on better information. Our clients and partners include growing companies, technology firms, government contractors, and public-sector organizations.
-
We help organizations make sense of fragmented, inconsistent, or underused data. That may mean developing a data strategy, connecting systems, improving governance, building analytics or AI-enabled tools, or stepping into a project that is stalled or off track. The goal is always the same: help people know, decide, and act.
-
We combine strategy, architecture, and hands-on execution. We do not recommend AI for AI’s sake or leave clients with a roadmap they cannot implement. We meet organizations where they are, identify the most practical path forward, and build solutions around their real users, systems, constraints, and business goals.
-
We start by understanding the decisions you need to make, the people who need to make them, and what is getting in the way. We then assess the data, technology, workflows, and organizational constraints; define a practical path forward; and work alongside your team to deliver it.
-
Yes. We can lead an engagement, supplement an internal team, support a prime contractor or technology partner, or provide senior data and AI leadership on a fractional basis. Clients work directly with experienced leaders rather than having the work handed off to a junior delivery team.
-
Both. We can help define the problem, create the strategy, and design the architecture—and we can also build the pipelines, models, applications, analytics, and workflows needed to make it real. Our experience spans the full data lifecycle, from strategy through delivery.
